Any car part can be easily 3d scanned and reverse engineered into 3D CAD models, in .stp or .igs formats.

This data can then be used to cut molds, dies or the parts themselves.

Leading automotive aftermarket parts provider also investing to improve customer experience, increase parts availability and speed of service with same-day delivery
RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Advance Auto Parts, Inc. (NYSE: AAP), a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider in North America that serves both professional installer and do-it-yourself customers, announced today that it has completed the store closure phase of its transformation plan and is entering its next phase of returning to growth.
Optimization of the retail footprint was key to Advance’s broader transformation plan to reposition the company for long-term success. Now, more than 75% of the Company’s stores are in markets where the company has the No. 1 or No. 2 position based on store density, strengthening its presence in strategic communities.
With that phase complete, the Company now expects to open 30 new locations in the United States in 2025 and at least an additional 100 new locations through 2027, including larger “market hubs.”
Since the beginning of this year, Advance has opened six new stores in Florida, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia. Over the next several months, the company expects to open additional stores to serve customers across communities in Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Advance is also continuing the expansion of market hubs with new openings soon in the Midwest. These larger stores will increase availability of parts by placing approximately 75,000 to 85,000 SKUs closer to customers and other local Advance stores, as well as improve Advance’s speed of service with same-day delivery of parts. By comparison, typical Advance stores carry between 20,000 to 25,000 SKUs.
“Advance Auto Parts is on the path to accelerate store growth and focused on the fundamentals of selling auto parts,” said Shane O’Kelly, president and chief executive officer. “We are excited about what’s to come for Advance. Our team members are committed to providing the right parts and the right service for our PRO and DIY customers in their communities.”
In addition to new store openings, Advance is creating a better customer experience. The Company’s previously announced incremental capital expenditure plan includes additional investments in existing stores related to IT infrastructure, equipment, store repairs and improved inventory and delivery. Advance is also providing additional training to team members to enhance customer experience.

Since the beginning of the year, Schaeffler said it has provided its customers with a CO₂e emissions calculator. The company said all that is required is the input of load and speed data in the online product catalog “Schaeffler medias.”
Schaeffler explained that to achieve its climate targets, companies require transparency regarding the CO₂ emissions created by supplier products. Schaeffler now provides this information for the majority of its rolling bearing product portfolio.
Based on these emission values, customers can make data-based investment decisions, which are in line with their sustainability targets.
link hidden, please login to view said it displays the emissions in so-called carbon dioxide equivalents, abbreviated as CO₂e, as a metric measure used to compare the emissions of various greenhouse gases based on their global-warming potential (GWP). Since the beginning of 2025, the calculator in the digital product catalog “Schaeffler medias” has not just offered the option of calculating the production-related CO₂e emissions at individual bearing level. It also shows the emissions caused by friction losses in the bearing during the utilization phase.
“Our customers can now find out quickly and simply how many CO₂e emissions are produced by the operation of a rolling bearing in their application – and therefore how the selection of a bearing with optimized friction behavior has an impact on the operating costs in quantitative terms,” explained André Schade, sustainability coordinator for product development in R&D at Schaeffler Bearings & Industrial Solutions.
      Relevance for all industrial sectors
Because this information can be found directly in the product catalog, customers who are registered with “Schaeffler medias” can select their desired products as usual. They also have the option of defining the planned application based on several load cases. To receive informative values on CO₂e emissions during the use phase, all that is required is the input of load and speed data for the application. This allows for instance a comparison between friction-optimized and standard bearings,

Schaeffler added that customers can delve deeper into this topic on the platform “

The platform also features direct links to Schaeffler’s solutions in the fields of mounting (assembly, fitting) and lubrication, as well as a link to a tool, which shows how the production in many sectors can be made more sustainable using Schaeffler products, the company said.
