Driven Distribution, LLC, a warehouse distributor of automotive aftermarket hard parts, consumables and accessories backed by HCI Equity Partners, announced that it has acquired the auto parts and accessories distribution business of Chicago Parts & Sound. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This marks the second transaction in the Driven Distribution platform, following the recapitalization of Tri-State Enterprises, Inc. in November 2023.
Based in Elk Grove Village, IL, with additional locations in Illinois and Wisconsin, Chicago Parts & Sound is a warehouse distributor focused on automotive aftermarket parts, batteries, consumables and accessories. The Company serves auto dealerships, independent repair shops, municipalities, governments and company fleets.
Chicago Parts & Sound was founded in 1978 and acquired by Bob and Jackie Lederer in 2002. Since then, CPS has had a tremendous track record of success by providing value-added products and services to its clients, in addition to completing several acquisitions, according to a news release announcing the acquisition. Bob and Jackie said they are reinvesting in the Driven Distribution platform as part of the transaction and will continue to own and operate Police Department Systems (police and emergency vehicle upfitting services) and Coachcraft & Precision Services (specialty auto restoration services).
Bob Lederer, co-owner of CPS, said, “The history of Tri-State Enterprises is in many ways parallel to that of CPS – just in a different part of the country. Opportunities to combine businesses of such similar backgrounds, ideologies, culture, and customer focus make tremendous sense for all stakeholders in each company.”

Terms were not disclosed. 4M Parts Warehouse has 17 locations in North Texas and more than 120 employees. 4M Parts Warehouse President Lanny Martindale will join NexaMotion Group as VP of sales and operations.

Rowe Auto Service in Oneonta, NY, has been owned and operated by the Odell and Hogan families for nearly 60 years. It was purchased by Howard J. Odell and Joseph R. Hogan in June 1964 from the original Rowe brothers. Their sons Lance E. Odell and Joseph D. Hogan worked in the business and, in June 1995, purchased the company from their fathers. They will stay on with Fisher Auto Parts beyond the transition.
“As a family-owned, privately held business with an experienced team of professionals, Rowe Auto Service is a good fit for Fisher Auto Parts,” said Geoffrey Shifflett, area vice president of Fisher Auto Parts. “We plan to grow market share in this region, so we are very pleased that Lance and Joe agreed to pass the torch to us, and we thank them for staying on to help with the transition.”

In these systems, the alternator also acts as a generator, connecting the electric motor and internal combustion engine with a specially sized and designed belt in the front-end accessory drive, which ensures the correct tensioner geometry for optimal performance the company said. This setup allows the front-end accessory drive to perform various functions such as starting the vehicle, adding power and smoothing torque. “Litens is dedicated to expanding its product line to support the latest vehicle engine technologies – especially the hybrid market – which is seeing more-and-more vehicles reach the point of needing maintenance,” said Ana Marie Lopez, Product Application Manager at Litens Aftermarket N.A. “As this trend continues, Litens will continue to expand our coverage to meet the increasing demand.”
