Nominations will be reviewed by a committee consisting of AACF Board and Executive Committee Members as well as a NEXUS executive. “This prestigious award aims to recognize and honor outstanding individuals, companies, associations or groups within the automotive aftermarket industry who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the lives of others through humanitarian efforts,” the AACF said.
“Since first introducing the AACF Humanitarian Award in partnership with NEXUS North America in May earlier this year our team has been purposefully planning,” said John Kairys, executive director of AACF. “We’re excited to officially open the nomination process to provide an opportunity for individuals and companies who give back with grace and intention to be recognized for their efforts in the community.”
The selection process for the AACF Humanitarian Award will be rigorous, with nominees evaluated based on their demonstrated impact and commitment to humanitarian causes. The award recipient will be announced at a special ceremony during Auto Care Association Connect 2025, bringing well-deserved recognition to their exceptional contributions, the AACF said.
“On behalf of NEXUS North America and NEXUS Automotive International, I want to share our excitement to have this opportunity to support the AACF organization for this new, outstanding Humanitarian Award. We are honored to play a role in this initiative,” said Robert Roos, president Pronto Network & NEXUS North America.

Kairys was most recently Vice President, Parts and Service Group for TBC Corporation, a recognized leader in the replacement tire and automotive service industry. During his 9 years at TBC Corporation, he also served as Vice President and General Manager of their Big O Tires franchise organization and as Vice President and General Manager of one of TBC’s wholesale business units, Carroll/NTW Tire. His career in the Automotive Aftermarket spans nearly four decades and included executive roles at Cooper Tire, Pirelli and NAPA.
John has served on multiple executive committees and has been highly engaged in many philanthropic efforts, particularly those that make a difference by giving back to local communities in support of youth education and well-being. Additionally, he has served on the AACF’s Board of Trustees for the past 3 years.
“We are thrilled to welcome John Kairys as the new Executive Director of AACF,” said Jon Owens, President of AACF. “John’s extensive experience and deep commitment to the automotive aftermarket industry make him the ideal leader to guide our foundation into the future. The Marketing Executives Council (MEC) of MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers announced that it has added new members to its executive committee
The new executive committee members are:
Rebecca Conway – Vice President, U.S./Canada Aftermarket Marketing, Clarios
David Stewart – Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Wells Vehicle Electronics
“We are excited to welcome Rebecca and David to our Marketing Executives Council executive committee,” said Susan Pase, senior advisor & director, councils, at MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. “Their fresh insights and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and drive industry growth.”
The MEC provides brings together automotive aftermarket supplier marketing executives to collaborate on issues facing the North American manufacturer base. The MEC said it serves a role in helping aftermarket suppliers communicate to key audiences and develop communication strategies and action items. Council meetings serve in the continuing education of new technologies, marketing avenues, trade show activities, research, and other related topics.
