When maintaining or repairing our Toyota cars, we usually encounter a choice question – choose aftermarket brake pads or OEM brake pads? Everyone’s choice may be different. First of all, we need to figure out what OEM brake pads and aftermarket brake pads are.

What are OEM brake pads?

OEM brake pads are components made by the same manufacturer that produced the original parts used when the vehicle was built. How to Choose Between OEM and aftermarket brake pads

After comprehensive analysis, we have a certain understanding of the basic concepts of the two, which is very helpful for us to choose. The conditions of each person and each car are different, so when choosing, you must consider your personal situation before making a decision.

Quality and Reliability: If you prioritize peace of mind, durability, and guaranteed compatibility, OEM brake pads are your best choice.

Cost Savings: If you have a limited budget and choose the right supplier, aftermarket brake pads may be a suitable choice.

Warranty Issues:

Using non-OEM brake pads may void certain warranties on your vehicle. Double-check the terms of your warranty before choosing an aftermarket part.

Are OEM brake pads definitely better than aftermarket brake pads? I think the answer is not completely certain. You need to choose according to each person’s needs and actual situation. Just like “there are a thousand Hamlets for a thousand readers”, there is no single answer to whether it is good or bad. Each option has its own set of advantages and considerations, making it essential to weigh your choices carefully based on your specific needs and preferences.
